where Citizen Journalism
meets Insightful Opinion

Big media gatekeepers believe that you must have a business card emblazoned with "journalist" in order to be deemed worthy enough to raise your voice.  Not so. We have a duty to speak our minds about politics, economics, media, environment, entertainment, arts, culture, sports, science, style, you name it. But we also must do our homework so that opinion does not eclipse accuracy. Write smart. Dig in. And have a sense of humor.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s a damned shame that a field as potentially dynamic and vital as journalism should be overrun with dullards, bums, and hacks, hag-ridden with myopia, apathy, and complacence, and generally stuck in a bog of stagnant mediocrity.
